Analytical Technician
Gaby Carr received her M.S. and B.S. in NanoEngineering from the University of California, San Diego where she worked on bacteria-powered, degradable TPU systems in Pokorski Lab. Since graduating, she has been working in startups developing cutting-edge technologies that aim to transform traditional supply chains into sustainable, scalable systems for the future of our planet and its people.
I’ll likely be in the kitchen cooking something from scratch, thrifting with friends, playing chamber music, or rehearsing for an upcoming symphony concert (I play cello!).
As someone who spends a lot of time cooking, I would love to see polyurethane sponges made out of our Soleic material so that no microplastics make their way down the drain and into the ocean.
I envision a future that shifts away from consumerism and towards circular economies, where all products and materials are kept in circulation through processes like maintenance, reuse, refurbishment, remanufacturing, recycling, and composting. This would eradicate planned obsolescence and reward higher-quality products that positively impact our way of life and our health.
